Jimmy Joe Isbell
Jimmy Joe Isbell, 73, of Waverly, a longtime resident of Coffey County, died Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at Coffey County Hospital in Burlington.
The son of
Lawrence W. and
Marie Carter
Isbell, he was born Sept. 18, 1931, in Wichita.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War era.
Before moving to Waverly, he lived in Burlington and Strong City. He had worked at a number of projects, including being employed as a purchasing agent for Daniel International during the construction of the Wolf Creek nuclear power plant.
He attended the United Methodist Church in Waverly.
He is survived by his wife, Rheta R. Isbell of Burlington. They married in July 1953 in Wichita.
Also surviving one daughter, Julie Jeanine Atkin of Ottawa; two sons, Lonnie Isbell of Burlington and Evan Isbell of Ozark, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and a brother, Jerry Isbell of Scottsdale, Ariz.
A sister died earlier.
