Knight, John Arthur Jr John Arthur Knight Jr., 67, died Monday, Feb. 27, 2006, at his home in Osage City.
He was born July 19, 1938, at Kansas City, Kan., the son of John
Arthur Knight
Sr. and Lena
"Jean" Byers. He graduated high
school in Atchinson and attended two years of college at St. Benedictine College in Atchinson.
He had served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force.
He worked 20 years in postal service and was Postmaster of Strong City until retirement. After retiring he was a tour bus driver for King of the Road.
He was a member of the Arab Shrine, V.F.W., American Legion, Masons, Legends of Topeka Racing, Capitol City Van Club and the Show Car Association.
He married Teresa Asbury on July 24, 1987, in Topeka. He had lived in Osage City for 14 years and had previously lived in Strong City.
He is survived by his wife of the home; a daughter, Connie Wilcox of Etna, Maine; a son, Ralph Knight
of Topeka; a brother, Leon Knight of Bucyrus; three step-sons, Garth Asbury and Justin Asbury of Osage City and Brian Asbury of Burien, Wash.; and step-mother, Marie Knight of Bucyrus.
Mr. Knight was cremated and private memorial will be held at a later date.
