Lang, John Francis Jr Warwick, NY, John Francis Lang, Jr., 77. a 40 year area resident,
died Nov. 3, 2001, following a long illness. The son of the late John F Lang and
Pauline Slater Lang, he was born in Annapolis, Md., on April 30, 1924. In 1942
Mr. Lang made his musical debut in Tanglewood under the conductor, Serge
Koussevitzky, performing the French Horn. He served in World War II on the
U.S.S. Pontotoc and the U.S.S. Hancock. He was a member of the International
Union of Operating Engineers, Local 14B, in New York City, as were his father
and brother.
Survivors include his wife, Judith "Jay" Lang, of the home;
one brother, Jesse Bennett Lang; one sister, Harriet Helsher of Manilus, N.Y.:
three children, John Lang III of Cedar Point, Claudia Kapito of Sackett Lake,
N>Y>, and Robert "Clint" Lang of Pennsylvania; two granddaughters and five
grandsons. Services were private. Memorial contributions can be made to the
Warwick Animal Shelter, Warwick, N.Y.
