Laughridge, Betty Jane Betty Jane Laughridge, 84, died Wednesday, Nov 10, 2004, at Newman Regional Health, Emporia. A Witness of the Resurrection Service was held at the First
Presbyterian Church, U.S.A. in Cottonwood Falls Nov 13 with The Rev. Pat
Ireland officiating. Interment followed in Prairie Grove Cemetery, Cottonwood Falls.
Betty Jane Rider, the daughter of William and Blanche Errett Rider, was born Oct. 19, 1920, at Cottonwood Falls. She and Whitt C. Laughridge were
married June 16, 1940, in the Presbyterian Church in Cottonwood Falls.
She was a secretary for attorney Harry O'Reilly and at the elevator. She was, also, a homemaker. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Cottonwood Falls, where she was active in Mariners, Presbyterian Women and was a 50-year member of BZ Chapter of P.E.O.
She is survived by her husband of the home; two sons, William _Rider Laughridge of Fremont, Neb. and Charles Edward Laughridge of Council Grove; two daughters, Kay Ellen Olson of Manhattan and Connie Sue Donatelli of Derby; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, and a sister, Dorothy Selves.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Cottonwood Falls, and may be sent in care of the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home, 201 Cherry, Cottonwood Falls, KS 668451.
