Lawrence, Elmer Pershing

Elmer P Lawrence died at Morris County Hospital in Council Grove on Monday, Oct. 6, 2003.

Elmer Pershing Lawrence was born Dec. 9, 1918, at Bazaar to William and Martha Payton Lawrence. He farmed all of his life in the Chase County area. He was an Army Veteran of WWII. He is survived by a brother, Robert Lawrence of Matfield Green and a sister, Mary Sorenson of Littleton, Colo. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Everett, Ernest, Harold, James and Earl; and a sister, Jennie Lawrence in childhood.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, 2003, in the Bazaar Cemetery, south of Cottonwood Falls with Pastor Rick Smith of the First Baptist Church officiating. Friends, may call at the Brown-Blennett-Alexander Funeral Home from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. The casket will be closed at the cemetery. A memorial is suggested to the Chase County EMS in care of the funeral home.
