Leith, Levota G Evans Levota G. Leith, 84, a native of Cottonwood Falls, died Tuesday, May 24, 2005, at her home in Bakersfield, Calif.
Mrs. Leith and her husband, Lloyd Leith, farmed in Lyon County until 1963, when they moved to Walnut Creek, Calif. After they retired, they moved to Bakersfield.
The daughter of Tom and Lydia Evans, she was born May 26, 1920, in Cottonwood Falls, where
she grew up. She was raised by her grandmother and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Potter. She graduated from Chase County High School in Cottonwood Falls.
She married Lloyd G. Leith on Aug. 11, 1938. He died in July 1987.
Mrs. Leith is survived by two sons, Rex A. Leith of Bakersfield, Calif., and Jay E. Leith of Concord, Calif.; four grandchildren; one stepgranddaughter; 10 great-grandchildren; five
stepgreat-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Two grandsons died earlier.
The burial service was at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2005, in Prairie Grove Cemetery at Cottonwood Falls. The Rev. Rick Smith of Cottonwood Falls conducted the service.
