Litchfield, Joyce Eileen Wilber

Joyce Eileen Wilber Litchfield, 71, of El Dorado and formerly of Burns, died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2005, at her home.

Joyce, the daughter of George and Alice Waggy Wilber, was born Nov. 21, 1933, on the family farm near Burns. She grew up in the Burns area and graduated from Burns High School in 1951. She then attended Emporia State Teachers College.

She married Victor Everett Litchfield on Nov. 27, 1953, at the Methodist Church in Burns. They made their home in El Dorado. She worked at banks in the El Dorado and Wichita area. After 20 years of working, she retired from Citadel Bank in 1990. Joyce was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband; one son, Steve Litchfield of El Dorado; daughters, Vickie Wiggins of El Dorado, Kay Tibbs of Wellington, Cami Litchfield of Overland Park and Valerie Litchfield of the home; mother, Alice Wilber of El Dorado; brothers, Ralph Wilber of Phoenix, Ariz. and Ray Wilber of Wichita; sisters, Norma Clark of Burns and Karen Hamilton of El Dorado; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father.

The funeral service was Sept. 26, 2005, at the First United Methodist Church. A private family service was held at the Pleasant Center Cemetery in Burns. A memorial has been established as the Joyce Litchfield Memorial. Contributions and condolences may be left with Kirby-Morris Funeral Home, 224 West Ash, El Dorado, KS 67042, who assisted the family with the arrangements.
