Markley, Walter D.

Walter D. Markley of Plymouth, whose death occurred in the Newman Memorial Hospital at Emporia, Wednesday, June 10th, was buried at Plymouth, Sunday.

The funeral services were held at the First Methodist Church of Emporia, at 2:30 o'clock.

Mr. Markley was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Taylor Markley and he was born at Plymouth on March 6th., 1890. He was married on Jan. 5th., 1910 to Miss Dessie Stotler, of Plymouth. To this union were born two children who with his widow survive. The children are Mrs. Ralph Donaldson and Morris Markley, both of Plymouth.

Mr. Markley also leaves seven sisters and brothers, who are Frank Markley, of Sweetwater, Oklahoma; Mrs. Hattie Gilbert and Mrs. Nora Stone, of Lyon county; Mrs. Flora Moyer of Cambridge, Kansas; Mrs. Anna Evans of Wichita; Mrs. Eva Blossom, of Wamego, Kansas; and Abe Markley of Lyon county.

Walter Markley, 41, who lived on a farm near Plymouth all his life, died at 8 o'clock Wednesday evening at the St. Mary's hospital. He is survived by Mrs. Markley, formerly Miss Dessie Stotler; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Donaldson, of Plymouth; and a son, Morris Markley, of the home. Funeral services were held at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the First Methodist church in Emporia. Interment was in Memorial Lawn cemetery.
