Marks, Richard Lee Richard Lee Marks, 61, of Longton died May 16, 2006.
The son of Forest L. and Mary C. Swanner-Marks,
he was born
Sept. 12, 1944, at
Emporia. He
graduated from Emporia High School in 1962.
He married Nyla Jeanne Smith on Aug. 2, 1963. They divorced. He married Gina McElroy in 1980. They divorced.
Mr. Marks worked at Burnap Brothers and the
City of Emporia Water Department before he moved to Longton. He later became disabled. He served in the U.S. Navy on the submarine rescue ship, USS Skylark, during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by one daughter, Nyla Lorraine Freeman of Lebo; two sons, Richard Forest Marks of Lebo and Anthony Shane Marks of Minnesota; a stepdaughter, Christina McElroy-Bybee of Walton; a sister, Louise Swift of Strong City; a stepsister,
Marge Drake of Emporia; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepmother, Leola J. Marks; a brother, David Marks; and a stepbrother, Bill King.
The graveside inurnment service was Saturday, May 20, in Lincoln Cemetery, at Lebo.
Zeiner Funeral Home in Marion was in charge of arrangements.
