A. E. MARTIN DEAD

A. E. Martin, one of the founders of the Martin Dry Goods company, died at his home at Houston, Texas, Thursday, November 12, at the advanced age of 84.

Mr. Martin came to this city from Bronson, Kansas, about 1905 and, with his brother, J. M. Martin, started the Martin Dry Goods store. In 1908 the store was incorporated, and shortly afterward Mr. A. E., Martin sold his interest in the store and moved to Texas. Mr. Martin had been in the mercantile business at Bronson, Kansas, for about 25 years before coming to this city.

Mr. Martin is survived by his wife, four daughters, Mrs. A. C. Koch, of New York; Miss Lee Martin, of Denver, Colorado; Miss Marie Martin and Mrs. L. G. Holz, of Houston; two sons, E. W. Martin and C. .X. Martin, of Houston; two sisters, Mrs. Lou Birnbaum and Mrs. Fanny Heck, both of Colorado; and a brother, J. M. Martin, of McPherson, Kansas,
