Maybell, Paula Triemer Becker Paula Maybell died October 8th of pneumonia at Kaiser Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii.
She was 88 years old. Paula, was a active person until the illness claimed
her.
She was born in Strong City Kansas her parents were Ernest H.
Triemer known as "Dutch" and Thea Biltz Treimer known as "Mater". She was
one of six children all of the Treimer children had a nickname, Paula was
"Sissy" Treimer.
She graduated from Strong City High School and married
Charles "Chuck" Maybell shortly after.
Paula and her husband, Charles Maybell, were the resident agent in charge
of the Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms in Hawaii coming from California to
Kailua, Hawaii 40 years ago. Paula worked for 20 years at the Bishop Estates
in downtown Honolulu in charge of the Safety Deposit Boxes Department.
Paula, a long standing member of the St. Marks Lutheran Church in Kaneohe
participtated in church activities and sang in the choir on Sundays. She was
an avid golfer and bridge player at their Mid Pacific Country Club winning
many trophies and prizes. Paula loved to travel taking her granddaughter
Eden and sisters on her various trips to Russia, Japan, China, Egypt,
German, Alaska.
Five years ago in Hawaii Paula married a friend she had known from grade
school through high School, William "Bill" Becker. Bill was a Colorado State
Senator, had retired and was a widower as was Paula. Having gone
to school together they saw each other at their high school reunions,
enjoyed each others company and decided to spend their remaining years
together.
Bill, had a stroke this past year and is living in Colorado with his family;
he has four sons who are taking care of him.
Paula is survived by her son, Jon Maybell of Portland Oregon; granddaughter,
Eden Stright of Alexandria, Virginia; two great grandsons Grant and
Alexander Stright; and niece, Sue Rouda of Belvedere, California.
Services will be October 21st 11:00 at St Marks Lutheran Church at 45-725 Kamehameha
Hwy in Kaneohe. Visitation at 10:00. Aloha dress. Donation may be made to St
Marks Lutheran Church.
