JOHN MAYNARD DIES SUDDENLY, MONDAY

Stroke of Paralysis Takes Strong City Man -- Funeral Wednesday Afternoon.

John Maynard of Strong City died Monday afternoon at his home as a result of a stroke of paralysis. He was sick but a few minutes. Funeral services are to be this (Wednesday) afternoon at the Methodist church, following a short service at the home of Mrs Ida Maynard, and interment will be in the Strong City cemetery.

John Leroy Maynard was born in Kenosha, Wisc., October 15, 1885, and departed this life in Strong City, October 19, 1931; age 46 years and 4 days.

The family moved to Strong City when John was six weeks old and lived here about two years; the family then moved to Meadville, Pa., and lived there about five years, then moved to Canada. While living in Canada he had his first stroke. They returned from Canada to Strong City in 1908 and this has since been his home.

In 1912 during the ministry of Rev. Eugene Kramer he united with the Methodist church. He was married to Mrs. Minnie Brumbach, May 23, 1929. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, mother, father, one brother, and many other relatives and friends.

DEATH OF JOHN L MAYNARD

John Leroy Maynard died suddenly at his home in Strong City Monday afternoon, Oct 19th. The funeral was held at the Strong City Methodist church Wednesday afternoon. Rev. J L Mitchell, pastor of the church, preaching the sermon. Interment was in the Strong City cemetery.

Mr. Maynard was 46 years of age. He was the son of Alonzo and Ida Jane Maynard and was born in Wisconsin, Oct 15, 1885. He had lived in Kansas the past twenty-five years. He had been an invalid nearly all his life, one arm and a leg being partly paralized which made it impossible for him to do manual labor.

He is survived by his widow, and he also leaves one brother who lives in Pennsylvania.

Mr. Maynard's death occurred suddenly Monday afternoon before a physician could arrive. The Maynards lived in a little house southwest of John Drummond in the west part of Strong City.

When Mrs. Maynard found her husband had suffered a stroke she called the home of Mrs Rose Rettiger north of the Maynard home. Rettiger Brothers and Mr. W E Ives, who was at the Rettiger home, went to the Maynard home and found Mr. Maynard gasping for breath. Mr. Ives hurried to a telephone and called Dr. Hinden but before he could arrive Mr. Maynard was dead.
