McCabe, Claude Eugene Claude Eugene McCabe, 79, died Nov. 18, 2001, at Topeka.
Mr. McCabe was born Sept. 8, 1922 at Bazaar to James Bernard and Mildred LaVerne Heathman McCabe. He graduated from Cottonwood Falls High School. He was in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1941 to 1946. He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad as a Signalman for 42 years retiring in 1982. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion and a member of the Trinity Baptist Church.
Mr. McCabe married Verla Mae Foose, June 20, 1948, in Strong City.
He is survived by his wife of the home; four sons, Michael E. McCabe, Minot, N.D., Daniel A. McCabe, Topeka, David L McCabe, Osage City and Gary R. McCabe, Manhattan; three sisters, Bonnie Schmidt, Emporia, Betty L. Bahrley, Port Ewing, New York, and Ruby Yoakem, Cottonwood Falls; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
The funeral service will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001 at the Parker-Price Chapel and graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday Nov. 21, 2001 at the Matfield Green Cemetery in Matfield Green.
