when the family moved to Topeka.
For a number of years the Mercer family lived in the Bazaar vicinity where Mr. Mercer was in the cattle business. About two months ago Mrs. Mercer suffered a fractured hip in a fall.. This injury had greatly weakened her but she had shown improvement. A few days ago, however, she took a turn for the worse and her decline was rapid. Her death occurred about noon Sunday.
