Miller, Mary Elizabeth
Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Miller, mother of Frank K Miller of Peyton Creek, died at the Miller home Wednesday, October 11, 1933 after quite a long illness.
Mrs. Miller, who was 87 years of age, had made her home with her chlldren since the death of her husband about 15 years ago. She had been at the Miller home in this county frequently and on
her last visit came to Chase County about three and one-half months ago.
The funeral service was held from the Gill Mortuary in Wichita, Friday afternoon, October 13, at 2:30 o'clock. Interment was in the Highland cemetery, Wichlta, where Mr. Miller is buried.
Mrs. Miller was quite an old resident of Wichita, having lived there about 40 years. She and Mr. Miller were the parents of 12 children all of whom are now living. There were nine of the 11 present at her funeral.
The surviving children are Frank K Miller, of this county; Mrs. Cole Kincade, of Peabody; Mrs Bert Bradshaw, of Kansas City; Roy Miller of Oklahoma City; Park Miller of Chicago, Illinois; Ulis Miller of Frederick, Oklahoma; Mrs William Haupt of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; Mrs Thomas Brooks, Mrs Edward Pearson, and Mrs. John Doyle of Wichita; Mrs. Major George of Denver.
Mrs. George and Park Miller could not be present for the funeral.
Mrs. Mary E. Miller, 86, died Wednesday evening of last week at the home of her son, F. K. Miller, of Strong City. Mrs. Miller had made her home with her son and family off and on for the past 16 years and had been here three and one-half months preceding her death.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Gill mortuary in Wichita and interment was in a
cemetery there. Six grandsons
were pall-bearers.
Mrs. Miller was born in West Virginia and would have been 87 on November 3. She was married to Samuel G. Miller in Taney, Ill., and then came to Kansas where they homesteaded a place nine miles from Peabody. Mr. Miller died 16 years ago.
Eleven children survive Mrs. Miller. They are F. K. Miller, Strong City; Ulis Miller, Frederick, Okla.; Roy Miller, Oklahoma City; S. P. Miller, Chicago; Mrs. Will Haupp, Bartlesville, Okla.; Mrs. John Brooks, Mrs. John Doyle, Mrs. Ed Pearson, Wichita; Mrs. Joe George, Denver; Colo.; Mrs. Bert Bradshaw, Kansas City; Mrs. Cole Kincaid, Peabody. She has two surviving sisters, Mrs. Lucy Johnson of Pittsburg and Mrs. Jennie Gillette of Pasadena, Calif.
