Moffitt, Henry Monroe

Henry Monroe Moffitt was born in Ray County, Missouri, April 3,1871. He came to Kansas in young manhood and has made Chase county his home for the past eight years.

He was married to Miss Flora Wright, Dec. 31, 1913, at Cedar Point, Kansas. To this union were born two children, Merle, age 3 years, and Mable, age 17 months.

Possessed of a strong and robust appearing constitution, few realized his condition or knew his suffering. He was of a jovial and optomistic temperment; always a pleasant worn for every one. He was a good husband and loving father.

His friends and acquaintances were saddened by his death which was not unexpected. He passed from this world on Thursday, August 22, 1918

The funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Cedar Point, Friday, Aug. 23, 1918, at 2:30, after which interment was made in the Cedar Point cemetery.

He leaves to mourn his death besides his wife and two children, four sisters and four brothers, whose names are addresses are:Mrs. S. J. Pike, who so kindly assisted in his last illness; Mrs. M. E. Anderson, Miss Alice Moffitt of Richmond, Mo.; Mrs. E. T. Foushee, Princeton, Kansas; E. P. Moffitt, Millville, Mo.; J. R. Moffitt, Lydia, Kansas; J. A., Moffitt, Chetopa, Kansas; U. H. Moffitt of Oklahoma City, Okla., besides a host of other relatives and friends.
