OLIVER MORLEY KILLED
Mr. Oliver Morley, who owns the old Clarence North ranch in Matfield township was found dead, standing beside his car which was stopped at the side of the road north of Eldorado, Friday, January 27th.
Mr. Morley, who is a son-in-law of James Teeter of the Teeter oil field southeast of Matfield Green, was starting from his home one mile north of ElDorado to his ranch in this county. He had taken along his rifle, presumably to shoot rabbits. When about a mile from home he had stopped and pulled out to the side of the road. He had evidently shot a couple of times at something as there were two empty shells at the side of the car. He had then put the rifle in the car, butt first..
Evidently something caught the trigger and fired, the bullet striking Mr. Morley in the center of the forehead. When found some time later he was standing beside the car with his elbow resting on the open door of the car and he was facing in such a way that several cars had passed and had not noticed that there was anything wrong. The funeral was held at his home Sunday, January 29th.
