Nelson, Harvey Homer Jr An inurnment service with
military honors for Harvey
Homer Nelson Jr., 80, was Dec.
21, 2002, in Hillside Cemetery
at Toledo Township. The
memorial celebration of his life
was Dec. 21, 2002, in the
Chase County Health and
Rehabilitation Center at
Cottonwood Falls. Pastor Rick
Smith of the First Baptist
Church conducted the service. Memorial contributions to
the H. Dale Buck Animal
Welfare Memorial Fund can be

Mr. Nelson died Dec. 14,
2002, at the Chase County
Health and Rehabilitation
Center. He was a heavy equipment
operator and worked for
Blacktop and Marbut before he
retired in 1985. He was an
Army veteran of World War II.
Harvey Homer Nelson, the
son of Harvey and Lottie
Garrison Nelson, was born
Nov. 21, 1.922, at Saffordville.
His wife, the former Twila
Lackey, died earlier. Mr. Nelson was a member of
the First Baptist Church in
Cottonwood Falls.
He is survived by a niece,
Martha Burdette of Emporia.
His twin daughters died at
birth. A son, Johnny Lee Nelson; a
brother, Jack Nelson; and a
sister, Betty Gerardy, also died
earlier.
