Pitts, Jim
Jim Pitts, 73, Plymouth, Kan., died at Newman Regional Health on Tuesday, April 29, 2008.
Jim, the son of Clarence W. and Mina Meek Pitts, was born June 30, 1934 at Emporia.
He married Delores Carlene Peak, at Emporia, Sept. 2, 1956. She survives.
He was a Yardman for Emporia Livestock Sales for 20 years, retiring in 1993. He served in the 1st
Infantry Division of the U.S. Army during the occupation following World War II. He was a member
of Ball-Mccolm Post #5, American Legion.
He is also survived by a son, Dale Pitts, Emporia and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Joe Dean Pitts.
No services are planned, his body was donated for scientific study through the University of Kansas Medical School in Kansas City. Memorial contributions are to Hand and Hand Hospice, in care of
Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia.
