Potter, Marjorie Louise Thornton

Marjorie L. Potter, 73, of Strong City died at her home on Friday, Feb. 15, 2002 Funeral services were Tuesday, Feb. 19, in the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home in Cottonwood Falls with the Rev. Wayne Hett officiating. Burial followed in Prairie Grove Cemetery.

Marjorie Louise Thornton was born on Jan. 19, 1929, at Emporia to Louis and Bessie Neiman Thornton. She married Fred Potter on Sept. 5, 1945, at Council Grove. Mrs. Potter was a homemaker and a member of the Tyrone Baptist Church in Tyrone, Okla.

She is survived by her husband, Fred of the home; sons, Gary Potter of Emporia, Donald Potter and David Potter both of Dallas, Texas and Fred Potter of Strong City; daughters, Sheryle Baker of Topeka, Nancy Clark of Tyrone, Okla., Rhonda Reyer of Elmdale, Debra Schroer of Strong City and Marjorie Bradshaw of Cottonwood Falls; sisters, Jean Fosdick of Cottonwood Falls and Shirley Hudson of Milo, Mo.; 27 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a grandson, David Potter; brothers, Sonny Thornton and Larry Thornton; and one sister, Lillian Place. Memorials are suggested to the Farm Bureau Make a Wish Foundation or the Hand in Hand Hospice.
