Potter, William Harold Jr "Bill"

William "Bill" Harold Potter Jr., 63, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at his Wichita home. A Celebration of His Life service was held Saturday, June 21, at the First Baptist Church in Cottonwood Falls. Pastor Rick Smith officiated. Burial was in Prairie Grove Cemetery, Cottonwood Falls.

William Harold Potter Jr., the son of William Harold and Katherine Elizabeth Bein Potter, Sr., was born Nov. 14, 1939, at Cottonwood Falls. He married Cecile Graham on Sept. 30, 1957, at Emporia. He was a truck driver and was forced to retire in 1990 due to health problems.

He is survived by his wife of the home; sons, Bill Potter of Jefferson City, Mo., Brad Potter of Wichita, and Brian Potter of Reading; daughter, Julie Potter of Emporia; brothers, Dan Potter of Burrton, Les Potter of Battletown, Ky., John Potter of Lordsberg, NC., and Rick Potter of Quincy; step- brother, Brent Scheikofsky of Emporia; sisters, Joyce Herbaugh of Battletown, Ky., Donna Rigsby of Wichita and Marla Nosker of Lawrence; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grand- children. He was preceded in death by his parents, a nephew, Billy Potter, and two nieces, Hope Potter and Shakoda Potter.
