Very little is known about him. There's a letter of
thanks from the War Department, about his faithfull donation of blood to the
men in uniform. A card that shows his donations. His sister, Martha's statement of how
disappointed he was to be 4 F. A rigged picture, one that his sister done,
placing his head on a uniformed soldier, believed to be of his brother, Harold!
His sister's wispfull mention of his name. His nickname was "Buddy".
He died young at Lansing, Kansas November 17, 1955. He was hit in the head
by a tractor wheel when the tractor he was driving turned over. He may have been
married. A man named Mr Maulton inquired about his social security after his death.
He was survived by his brothers and sisters; John Jacob, Paul Jacob, Luke Jacob, Harold Ransford, Maybelle Matzke, Martha Spencer, and Maxine Baker.
Lester was proceeded in death by both parents, Joseph and Elsie (Baldwin) Ransford and 5 brothers and a baby sister.
