Redeker, Helen Marguerite Osborne

Helen Marguerite Redeker, 89, of Olpe died Tuesday, June 7, 2005, at Newman Regional Health.

Mrs. Redeker was a secretary at Roosevelt High School and Emporia State University before she retired in 1981. Before her marriage, she was a beautician at the Cinderella Beauty School.

The daughter of William and Edna Bolinder Osborne, she was born Sept. 14, 1915, in Admire. She married August Frank Redeker on Jan. 23, 1943, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emporia. He died March 13, 1983.

Mrs. Redeker was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Otpe. She is survived by a daughter, Janice Redeker of Olpe; a son, Maynard Redeker of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Arlene Hopper of Emporia and Lois Hannigan of Cottonwood Falls; and one granddaughter. Three sisters, Geraldine Jones, Wilma Conway and Dorothy Goodell, died earlier.

The Mass of Christian Burial was Saturday, June 11, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Tim Haberkorn was the celebrant. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the church or the American Cancer Society may be sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, P.O. Box 175, Emporia, KS 66801.
