Ronsick, James Edwin
James Edwin Ronsick, of Emporia, 85, died Feb. 6, 2008, at Holiday Resort Care Center, Emporia.
James Edwin, the son of Edwin J. and Lillie Fern Latham Ronsick, was born Feb. 4, 1923, at Iola.
He married Norma J. Wilkerson at Albuquerque, N.M. on Aug. 21, 1945.
He was a farmer/rancher in the Elk Community in northwest Chase County for 45 years, having retired 18 years ago. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Emporia, where he was an Elder and also at St.
John�s Lutheran Church in Lincoinville. He also was a member of Lowry-Funston Post #1980, Veterans of
Foreign Wars, Emporia; American Legion, Lincolnville; Disabled American Veterans; and the US Army Air Corps in WWII.
He is survived by his wife of the home; a son, Gene Ronsick, Overland Park; two daughters, Virginia Taylor, Lenexa and Barbara Sipes, Overland Park; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Katherine May Ronsick and Betty Ann Kent; and a great-grandson.
Services were held Saturday, Feb. 9, at Messiah Lutheran Church, Emporia with Norbet Tegtmeier of the church officiating. Military honors were by Ball-McCohn Post #5, American Legion Lowry-Funston Post #1980, Veterans of Foreign Wars. Burial was at Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia.
