Rouse, Wilma

A former Melvern resident, Wilma Pearl Rouse, 86, died April 13, 2002, at Peterson Nursing Home in Osage City.

She was born Oct. 15,1915, in Keene, the daughter of Joe and Ethel Lola Sawyer Peterson. She is survived by her husband, Wilbur F Rouse, whom she married on April 17, 1934, in Cottonwood Falls. She lived in Melvern from 1971 until three years ago, when she moved to Osage City.

Other survivors include three brothers, Albert Peterson and Wayne Peterson, both of Topeka, and Paul Peterson of Wichita; and two sisters, Myrna Parre of Osage City and Betty Peterson of Topeka. A son, Billie Dean Rouse, and two brothers, Joe Peterson Jr and Freeman J Peterson, died earlier. Graveside services, conducted by the Rev. Robert Faulkner, were April 17, 2002, at Harveyville Cemetery at Harveywille. Memorial contributions to the Peterson Nursing Home in her name can be sent in care of the funeral home.
