Rufener, Hope E Goad

Hope E. Rufener, 84, died Aug 6, 2002, at Chase County Health and Rehabilitation Center, Cottonwood Falls.

Hope E. Goad, the daughter of George and Gladys Marsh Goad, was born April 22, 1918, at Elmdale. She was a school bus driver, Sunday School teacher for 20 years, 4-H leader, Red Cross swimming instructor and school custodi- an at Saffordville. She was a lifetime Chase County resident and a member of the Cottonwood Falls United Methodist Church.

Hope married John B. Rufener in 1948 in Cottonwood Falls. She is survived by her hus- band; three sons, Clifford Warren ,Rufener, Wichita; John Larrimore Rufener, Cottonwood Falls; and Robin Bernhardt Rufener, Sedalia, Mo.; one sister, Louise Scott, Cottonwood Fall's; one grand- daughter; and three great- grandchildren.

The graveside service will be Friday, Aug. 9, 2002, at 11 a.m. with he Rev. James P. Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery, with Croy's Funeral Home in charge of arrange- ments.
