Sielert, Floriene Mae Gardner Floriene Mae Sielert, 87,
a resident of the Emporia
Presbyterian Manor and
formerly of Reading, died
Thursday, June 4, 2003, at
Newman Regional Health.
Floriene Mae Gardner,
the daughter of Charles B.
and Alice Lane Gardner,
was born Dec. 11, 1915, at
Neosho Rapids. She mar-
ried Edward R. "Mutt"
Sielert on July 6, 1934, at
Cottonwood Falls.
Mrs. Sielert, a home-
maker, was a member of
the First Presbyterian
Church. She was a member, and in 1954, worthy
matron of Miriam Chapter
14 of the Order of the
Eastern Star. She had also
been a guardian of the
Emporia Chapter of Job's
Daughters, a member and
past president of the
Cosmopolitan Study Club
and a member of the
Reading Civic Club and the
Reading Senior Citizens
Club.
She is survived by her
husband, also of the manor;
a daughter, Norma Roberts
of Overland Park; four
grandchildren; and four
great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held on
Friday, June 6, in the
Roberts -Blue-Barnett
Funeral Home Chapel in
Emporia. The Rev. J.
Gordon Bechtel of
the First
Presbyterian Church con-
ducted the service. Burial
was in Memorial Lawn
Cemetery.
The family suggests
memorial contributions to
the Shriners Hospital
Children's Burn Unit, sent
in care of the funeral home.
