Starks, JoAnn Miller

JoAnn Miller Starks, 67, died Jan. 19, 2003, at Hutchinson Hospital.

JoAnn Miller, the daughter of Glenn Ralph and Esther Alice Damford Miller, was born Nov. 23, 1935, in Strong City. She married Howard Lee Starks on Oct. 1, 1954, at Strong City.

She was was a nurses aide at The Cedars, Highland Manor and Memorial Hospital. She was a former resident of Hillsboro and had lived in McPherson since 1970.

She is survived by her husband of the home; a son, Douglas Starks of Marquette; five daughters, Carla Myers, Rebecca Lund and Cindy Crosby all of McPherson, Candy Smith of Choctaw, Okla., and Sandra Clements of Baytown, Texas; four brothers, Paul Miller of Deville, La., Keith Miller of Strong City, Kenny Miller of Emporia and Bobby Gene Miller of Lorenzo, Texas; a sister, Gladys Thompson of Cottonwood Falls; several nieces and nephews 18 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be Jan. 23, 2003 at 2:00 p.m., at Stockhaln Family Funeral Home in McPherson. The Rev. Terry Post will be officiating and interment will be in McPherson Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Stockham Family Funeral Home. The family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Personal condolences may be sent to the family via www.stockhamfamily.com.
