Helen Margaret
Stromberg, 82, of Marion,
died Dec. 9, 2003.
Helen Margaret
Peterson, the daughter of
Eli J. and Lydia J. Hett
Peterson, was born on Nov.,
1921, southwest of
Florence. She attended the
Fairplay School.
Helen and August
Sellers were married on
Aug. 22, 1936. They managed a farm near her parents southwest of Florence.
He died Aug. 15, 1961. On
Nov. 18, 1967, she married
Benard M. Stromberg.
Together, Benard and
Helen farmed and operated
the Stromberg Dairy.
She was an active and
devoted church member.
She was a member of the
CWT for many years.
Helen and Benard were
instrumental in the organization and founding of the
Florentine Senior Center in
1978.
She is survived by one
son, Robert Lee; one daughter, Margaret Louise; nine
grandchildren; and great-
grandchildren.
She was preceded in
death by her parents; a
daughter, Betty Ann
Phillips; three sisters,
Elizabeth Peterson,
Caroline Bloomer and
Edna May Angle; and four
brothers, Ivan, Ralph,
Melvin and Willard.
The funeral service was
Dec. 13, 2003, at the
Florence Christian Church,
Florence. The Rev. Harold
Brown and Rev. Marilyn
Cox officiated. Interment
was in Hillcrest Cemetery,
Florence.

Church.
