Stuber, Paul Lester "Sandy" & Ruby Mae Haring

Paul Lester "Sandy" Stuber, 93, of Winfield, died Nov. 17, 2001 from injuries sustained in a Motor vehicle accident near Strother Field, south of Winfield. Ruby Mae Haring Stuber, 90, died Nov 17, 2001 in the same motor vehicle accident. Paul Lester Stuber was born Sept. 7, 1908 on a farm near Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Albert Dekalb and Ada (Mateer) Stuber. He lost both of his parents by age six; he went to Wilmot and lived with his aunt and uncle, J P and Mary Stuber. He attended Summit School and helped on the farm as a youth.

Ruby Mae Haring was born Oct. 28, 1911, near Latham to Samuel F and Minta Mae (Sweet) Haring. At an early age, she and her family moved to the Atlanta community. She graduated from Atlanta High School in 1930.

On Oct 29, 1930, the couple married in Winfield. They made their home in Atlanta until 1936. Then they purchased a farm north of Wilmot, where they lived and worked for 57 years, before moving to Winfield in 1993. The couple died together following a motor vehicle accident after 69 years of marriage. Mr and Mrs Stuber were 50 year members of the former Wilmot Christian Church and were currently attending the Atlanta Christian Church.

His survivors include; three nephews, Walter Lewis, Dee Lewis and Alan Lewis all of rural Winfield; three nieces, Katherine Taylor of Douglas, Marjorie Able of Winfield and Patty John of Los Angeles, Calif.; and many other great-nephews and nieces and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mary and Louis; and one brother Philip.

Her survivors include; one nephew, Stanley S. Haring Jr. of El Dorado; three nieces; Marion Weaver of Cottonwood Falls, Dorothy Glass of Benton and Doris Haskell of ElDorado; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley S Haring and Harold Haring.

Funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 23, 2001 at 2 p.m. at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at the Wilmot Cemetery. Memorials have been established in Mr. and Mrs. Stuber's name for the Atlanta Christian Church and for the charity of the donor's choice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
