Swift,
Clara C Porter Clara C. Swift, 66, died Monday, Aug. 22, 2005, at Newman Regional Health in Emporia.
The daughter of Garner and Clara Jenkins Porter, Clara Coyette Treadway was born Dec. 9, 1938, in Little Rock, Ark. She married Francis E. Swift on Nov. 20, 1965, in Little Rock, Ark. He died April 16, 2002.
She worked at K-Mart for 20 years. After her retirement, she and her husband ran C & F Flea Market and Antiques in Topeka.
She is survived by: three sons, Clyde Sullivan of Gardner, Bryan Sullivan of Emporia, and Francis Swift, Jr. of Blue Springs, Mo.; three daughters, Robbie Sullivan of Topeka, Phyllis Gregerson of Grand Meadow, Minn. and Terri Swift of Topeka; a brother, George Porter of Jacksonville, Ark.; a sister,
Jean Robertson of Buckville, Ark.; 32 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Bud Porter.
A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005, at 6 p.m. at the Brown-BennettAlexander Funeral Home. The Rev. Steve Swigert of Apostolic Tabernacle will officiate. She will be cremated following the service. A private inurnment, in Matfield Green Cemetery, will be held at a later date.
