Vanderen, R H
Cedar Pointer
Friday morning the 11th, R H Vanderen, of Cedar Creek, died after months of suffering with consumption. He was buried on Saturday. Rev. S R Sayre conducting the services.
Mr. Vanderen had lived many years on the place where he died and had the confidence and respect of all who knew him. He was one of the first settlers in this section to manifest sufficent confidence in this part of Kansas to plant a considerable orchard, but while others laughed at the idea of raising fruit and especially apples here, he lived to reap the reward of his efforts several years. He will be greatly missed by all in this section.
