Vinson, Garnet Mable
Garnet Mable, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Vinson, was born April 20, 1900, near Homestead, Kans., and died August 24th, of congestion of the stomach and bowels.
Garnet had been ailing for several days but kept about assisting her mother with the household duties and was able Friday to play and sing her favorite hymn. She was taken sick at midnight Friday night and medical aid summoned but it was of no avail. She grew rapidly worse and death came at six oclock Saturday evening.
The funeral was held at the family home Monday. Rev. Dixon of the M. E. church of Cottonwood Falls conducted the services, which were largely attended by the many friends of the family. Garnet was a beautiful child, loved by all who knew her. Not only in the bereaved home will she be missed but the entire community will sadly miss the merry laugh and the bright happy face.
It was with heavy hearts that we laid her to rest among the beautiful blossoms, breathing a prayer that in the future when all tears have been wiped away and the veil which hides the Eternal City from our mortal sight has been lifted, that there we will meet Garnet, the beautiful face and form glorified and free from pain and clasp hands again knowing that we will part no more. A Friend.
