Vinson, Maggie E. Barr
Miss Maggie E. Barr was born in Armaugh, Indiana County, Penn, November 20th, 1852. In 1868 her parents moved to Clinton, Iowa, and in 1870 to Decatur county, Iowa, taking her with them. In 1868 she was converted and joined the Methodist Episcopal Church.
She married September 12, 1873, to T. G. Vinson, to which union eight children were born, six of whom, with her husband, survive her. They are: Judith, Edith and Tommie of Strong City; George of Cheney, Mo; Wid of Missouri, and Sam of Cottonwood Falls.
Mrs. Vinson, with her husband and family, came to Kansas in 1895, locating near Morgan post office, about twelve miles southwest of Cottonwood Falls. In 1901 they moved to Strong City on account of Mrs. Vinson�s health. She was taken seriously sick about six weeks ago and she died Monday morning, May 6th.
Mrs. Vinson had lived a life which commanded the respect and esteem of all who knew her, and her bereaved husband and children have the sincere sympathy of a large circle of friends.
