Vinson, William
William Vinson was born in Jefferson County, Iowa, November 23, 1848, and died at his home in Cottonwood Falls, Kansas, August 16, 1925, aged 76 years, 8 months, and 23 days.
He was one of a family of nine children; the only surviving ones are Mrs. Mary Rife and Mrs. Belle Rife, of Corvallis, Oregon; Mrs. Susan Harter, of Edgar, Nebraska, and Mr. Stewart Vinson, of Lotis, Idaho.
He joined the Christian Church at the age of twenty-one.
He was married October 7, 1877, to Anna T. Musselman, in Clark County Iowa. To this union were born eight children two of whom died in infancy and one daughter, Garnet, who died at the age of twelve years.
The surviving members of the family are the widow, Mrs. Anna T. Vinson, of Cottonwood Falls, two sons, Tom, of Junction City and Sam of Cedar Point, and three daughters, Mrs. Hattie Thompson, of Cedar Point, Lillian, of Alma, and Civilla, of Cottonwood Falls. There are also ten grandchildren.
The family lived in Iowa for fourteen years, then moved to Nebraska, coming to Kansas in l898. They lived on a farm near Clements, until 1914 when they moved to Cottonwood Falls.
