Wassom, Anna Marie Henderson

Anna M. Wassom, 63, died, Dec. 12, 2001, at her home in Elmdale. Memorial services were held Dec. 15 at the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home, Cottonwood Falls. Officiant was John Lansbury. Mrs. Wassom has been cremated. Private interment was in Strong City.

Anna Marie Henderson, the daughter of Elmer "Goldie" and T Marie Atkinson Henderson, was born Feb. 27, 1938, at Strong City. She married Larry Wassom on Aug. 14, 1954, at Belleville. He died March 17, 1996. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked on the surgical floor of Newman Hospital for years. She then worked for dentist Dr. Steve Jones for at least ten years before ill health forced her retirement.

She is survived by a son, Daniel Wassom of Elmdale; five daughters, Kathy Keyes of Marion, Larriat Schulte of Lebanon, Ore., Patricia Collier of Florence, Tammy Robison of Derby and Julie Wassom of Emporia; ten brothers, Samuel Richard of Salem, Ore., Robert Lee of Lubbock, Texas, John Wesley of Abilene, Charles Joe of Aberdine, Wash.; James Jay of Osage City, William Dean of Labonon, Ore., Dr. David Allen of Richmond Dale, Ohio, Theodore Paul of Lebo, Donald L. and Roger Wayne of Elmdale; four sisters, Shirley Joan Devanney of Emporia, Jane Aplet of Coos Bay, Ore., Peggy Jean Widenor of Paso Robles, Calif., and Linda Sue Pedersen of Grand Ronde, Ore.; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Hand-in-Hand Hospice. These may be sent in care of Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home.
