Watson, Ruby

Mrs. Ruby Watson, wife of Mr. Earl M. Watson and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W B. Gibson, died in HutchisonKansas, l:30 o'clock, Wednesday morning, Jan 17th 192.

She was born at Cottonwood Falls Dec. 12th, 1894. She lived twenty-eight years, one month and five days.

The family moved when Ruby was a little child to the 'home, near Clements, Kans., where she spent her childhood and youth and attended the public schools. She attended High School at Elmdale and at Cottonwood Falls, graduating from the latter in 1915. The following year, 1915-1916 she taught school in the Ice district. She later took a course at Business college at Wichita, Kans. She was the holder of a state teachers certificate.

Ruby Gibson was married to Earl M. Watson in the Methodist church in Elmdale, Nov. 6th, 1921. They made their home at once at Hutchinson, Kans., where Mr. Watson was engaged as an automobile mechanic.

A baby girl was born to Mr. and Mrs. Watson, Jun. 16th, 1923.

The deceased was a member of the Presbyterian church at Clements, where she was a Sunday School worker and for two years the Superintendent. The close kindred ones, left so lonely by Ruby's death are: Mr. Earl M. Watson and the infant baby girl; the fond parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Gibson. the grandmother, Mrs. Farmer; one sister, Mrs. Kate Shaft, of Sedgwick, Kans,; and four brothers, Mr. Paris Gibson of Elmdale, Kansas, Mr. Brown Gibson of. Huntington, Calif., Mr. Larry Gibson of Lebo, Kans., and Mr. Gilbert Gibson of Clements, Kansas. One brother, Hays, died several years ago. These and other many kindred ones and a host of friends lament the sudden and early death of this one so dear and so lovely.

The body was brought from Hutchinson to Elmdale_on Thursday, Jan. 18th, and services were held and burial given in the Elmdale cemetery in the presence of a multitude of friends.

Ruby Gibson Watson

Mrs. E. M. Watson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Gibson of Clements, died Tuesday morning, January 16, at about 1:30 .o'clock, at hsr home in Hutchinson, Kansas. Ruby Gibson was born at Cottonwood Falls, Kansas, in the year 1895. She was twenty-eight years old. She was married November l, 1920, to Mr. E. M. Watson of Elmdale.

She leaves to mourn her death her parents Mr. and Mr W. B. Gibson, one sister and four brothers, besides other relatives. The funeral was held Thursday afternoon, January 18th, at 2 o'clock, and interment was made in the Elmdale cemetery.

Mrs. Ruby Watson died This Morning Survived by a Little Babe.

Mrs. Ruby Watson, the wife of Earl M. Watson, the superintendent of service at the Reno Buick Motor company, died at a local hospital this morning at 1 o'clock, leaving a baby girl only five hours old. She and her husband have been living at 528 First East.

Mrs. Watson was born at Cottonwood Falls and in addition to her husband and the infant child, she is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Gibson of Clements, one sister, Mrs. Bert Shaft of Sedgwick, and four brothers: Brown Gibson of Los Angeles, Paris Gibson of Elmdale, Harry Gibson of Lebo, and Gilbert Gibson of Bazaar.

Her body will be taken to Elmdale tomorrow and the services will be held there.----Hutchison News, Hutchison Kansas, Jan 30 1923.
