White, Paul S.

Mr. Paul S. (Peck) White of Cottonwood Falls, passed away Friday, April 9 at the Newman Memorial Hospital, Emporia.

He was born April 25, 1910 at Cottonwood Falls, a son of Thomas Benjamin and Nora T. Bodecker White.

He married LaVona Sisson on January 8, 1938 in Cottonwood Falls.

They had lived in Cottonwood Falls; except for two years when Mr. White was employed by Burgner-Bowman-Matthews Lumber Company of Council Grove. He had worked for the Lumber Company in Cottonwood Falls, the Chase County Highway Department, retiring in 1975. For the past three years, he had worked the Green Thumb program in Chase County.

Mr. Peck White is survived by his wife of the home; one sister, Mrs. Julia Johnson, Burlington; two sister-in-laws, Mrs. Ruth White, Council Grove and Mrs. Hazel White Herington; several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Preston and Floyd E. White and one sister, Mrs. Rita C. Bowers.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 13 at 2:00 p.m. in the Brown-Bennett Funeral Home with the Rev. Lee Wiersma of the United Methodist Church officiating. Bennie Holtsclaw sang. Casket bearers were James and Emrick Harbaugh, Don Lawrence, Clifford Keener, Ted Scott and George Blount. Burial was held in Prairie Grove Cemetery.

A memorial in lieu of flowers was in care of Mrs. Peck White, Cottonwood Falls.
