Willhite, June B

June B. Willhite, 68, died July 21, 2002, at his home in Ottawa. June B. Willhite was born June 2, 1934, at Hymer to Desmond Robert and Lena Mae Blackburn Willhite. June had been a rural Franklin County resident since 1936, moving to Ottawa in 1962. He attended rural grade schools and graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1952. June worked 38 years from 1964 until the present as a machinist for Ottawa Truck in Ottawa. He was a member of Aerie Lodge #2700, Fraternal Order of the Eagles Ottawa, and Ottawa Bowling Association.

On Jan. 26, 1957, he married Mattie Lee West at Ottawa. She survives at home. Other survivors include two daughters, Brenda S. Yohe and Lori A. Hays, both of Ottawa; one son, James B. Willhite of the home; two brothers, Glenn Willhite of Wellsville and Lynn Willhite of Ottawa; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, David R. Willhite, two brothers, Dale and Merle; one grandson, Joshua Hays; and two granddaughters, Holley Lamberd and Kassey Hay. Memorial services were held at the First Baptist Church, Ottawa, July 25, 2002. The Rev. Herman Van Arsdale officated. Mr. Willhite has been cremated. Burial was in Hope Cemetery, Ottawa.
