Williams, Adaline M Reidel

Adaline M Williams, 102, died Wednesday, Oct 4, 2006, at the Chase County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Cottonwood Falls.

Adaline Maude Reidel, the daughter of Thomas and Kathryn "Katie� Lippert Reidel, was born May 24, 1904, on the family farm east of Matfield Green. She and Lonnie Williams were married June 15, 1923, at Salina. He died Jan 2, 1982. She was a school teacher and taught four years at the Oil Valley School in northern Butler County and four years at Fairplay School in southern Marion County.

She and her husband owned and operated the Silver Coat Restaurant in Emporia and the Mangle Luncheonette in Wichita. They also owned and operated the Sunset Motel in Wichita. In 1952, they moved to the Lake of the Ozarks near Camdenton, Mo and owned and operated a resort until 1971, when they moved to Cottonwood Falls. She moved to the Chase County Health and Rehabilitation Center in August 2001.

She was a member of the Cottonwood Falls United Methodist Church. a member of the UMW Christian Society and Rainbow Garden Club.

She is survived by nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Henry, Elbert, Leonard and John Reidel and a sister, Anna Reidel.

Funeral services were Sunday, Oct. 8, at the Cottonwood Falls United Methodist Church with The Rev. Melody Kimbrel officiating. Burial was in Matfield Green Cemetery in Matfield Green. Memorial contributions to the Cottonwood Falls United Methodist Church may be sent in care of the Brown-Be nnett-Alexander Funeral Home, 201 Cherry, Cottonwood Falls, KS 66845.
