Williams, James

James Williams, who has made his home in this city most of the time during the past year or two, died at the Beedle home in this city, Sunday, November 4. He seemed to be in his usual health when Mr. and Mrs. Beedle went to church and when they came home they found him dead in the bath room.

Dr. Hindon, coroner, was called and he pronounced it apoplexy. Mr. Williams had suffered a stroke of partial paralysis some time ago and he walked slowly with difficulty. He lived part of his time with his son, Henry Williams, near Thurman.

Mr. Williams was born in Missouri, October 22, 1844.

He was married November 9, 1868 to Martha Elizabeth Jackson. To this union ten children were born, four boys and six girls.

He is survived by his wife, all ten children and thirty-one grandchildren. He was a veteran of the civil war, serving in the Missouri cavalry.

The funeral was held at the Brown Funeral Home and interment was in Prairie Grove cemetery. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. J R. Blackburn of this city.
