Williams, James Edward "Ed"
James Edward Williams, well
known resident of Elmdale, died
at 12:30 o'clock Tuesday after
noon at the Harry Starkey home
in Elmdale as a result of a stroke
of paralysis suffered sometime after midnight Friday.
Funeral services are to be held at 2 o'clock
Thursday afternoon at the Starkey home in
Elmdale and interment
will be in Prairie Grove cemetery.
Mr. Williams, who was familiarly
known as "Slim," has lived in this county about 40 years. He
was 57 years old when he died.
He worked for a number of years
with the Santa Fe steel gang and
later became a farmer.
For the
past few years he has made his home with his sister, Mrs.
Harry Starkey. He has been in good health for some years and about two weeks ago complained of a severe headache which did not leave him until his death.
Besides Mrs. Starkey, Mr. Williams is survived by another sister, Mrs. Maggie Williams, of Cottonwood Falls, and by a brother, Harry Williams, of California.
