Yeager, G W Mrs
Mrs. G. W. Yeager died suddenly at her home on Rock Creek, several miles west of Bazaar at 4:25
last Thursday morning. Death was the result of a stroke of paralysis which Mrs. Yeager had suffered on
Monday, March 11th, just three days previous to her death. Mrs. Yeager had apparently been in her usual
state of health up to the time of the severe stroke she suffered Monday.
On Sunday, the day before
she had spent the day visiting with her children and seemed to be well and strong and in her normal health.
Death which came to her early Thursday morning was caused by the breaking of a blood-vessel in the side of her head.
Following the stroke she suffered Monday she did not regain consciousness before she died. The funeral services will
be held at the Yeager home at 2:30 o'clock, Friday afternoon, the sermon being preached by Rev. J. E. Bryan of
this city. Interment will then be made in the Bazaar Cemetery just west of Bazaar where the members of the
Yeager family are buried.
The death of Mrs. Yeager will bring universal sorrow to the many neighbors and friends who have known and
loved her for so many years, for she was one of the earliest residents of Rock Creek vicinity and one of the most widely known
of that part of the county.
It may be said of Mrs. Yeager probably more than of almost any other woman that her kindness and benevolence were known to more of her neighbors and friends and they loved and respected her more than any other person. There are now living many grown men and women are themselves fathers and mothers who can tell of the many acts of kindness bestowed upon them by Grandama Yeager when they were small boys and girls and this has stamped in their memory a reverence for this good woman which can never be forgotten not even in the generation which has since passed.
Mrs. Yeager came to Chase County almost have a century ago with her husband and she like other pioneer women of those days
knew all the hardships and privations the early Kansas settlers....intervening.....and christina life ....thankful for family and her friends and neighbros.
She .... her husband and sons who are .... and Father Yeager, both residing on Rock Creek... were close to the old home....community join in giving their sincere sympathy.
