Ziesmer, Joseph Wayne

Joseph Wayne Ziesmer, 40, of Cottonwood Falls died Aug. 19, 2003, at his home.

The funeral service was Aug. 23, 2003, at the Chase County Middle School gymnasium in Strong City. Pastor Rick Smith of the First Baptist Church in Cottonwood Falls conducted the service. Burial was in Matfield Green Cemetery at Matfield Green. He worked for Interstate Bakeries-Dolly Madison for 14 years and then was the custodian at Chase County Elementary School in Cottonwood Falls for the past five years.

Joseph Wayne Ziesmer, the son of Albert and Virginia Smirl Ziesmer, was born Sept. 2, 1962, at Great Bend. His first marriage, to Eloise Renfro, ended in divorce. He married Peggy Swift Shull on July 22, 2000, at Cottonwood Falls. Mr. Ziesmer is survived by his wife; two sons, Joshua Renfro and Adam Ziesmer both of Madison; a stepson, Joshua Shull of the home; two stepdaughters, Sequoia Shull and Amara Shull of the home; his father, Albert, Ziesmer of Emporia; his mother, Virginia Smirl and two sisters, Mary Frith and Ann Ziesmer, all of Dallas, Texas. A son, Justin Ziesmer, died earlier.

Memorial contributions to education funds for Adam Ziesmer or Joshua Shull, Sequoia Shull and Amara Shull can be sent to the Brown-Bennett- Alexander Funeral Home, 201 Cherry, Cottonwood Falls, KS 66845.
