We learn of the death of an old gentleman named Rawlins. His team ran away and he was thrown from the wagon while crossing the Hubbard Bridge. We could get no particulars.

Death of Mrs. Elizabeth Rawlins

Mrs. Elizabeth Rawlins died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jenkins in the north part of the city, Tuesday morning at seven o'clock. She was 80 years old, and was the mother of eight children, six of whom are living. Funeral services will be conducted at the residence on Merchant street, Friday at two p.m. conducted by Rev. Lee McCain of the Baptist church.

Charles Rawlins

Charles Rawlins was born in Logan, Ohio, Oct. 9, 1865. Came to Illinois with his parents at the age of five years. His father passed away in 1887. He with his mother then moved to Missouri, where he lived till about seven years ago, then he removed to Illinois. The 15th of last April his mother passed away.

Since the death of his mother he has had no permanent home but has lived with his brothers and sisters.

He was a member of the Woodmen of the World. During his last sickness he was very patient and departed this life at the home of his sister, Mrs. Jacob W. Bingham three miles east of Gosport, Oct 28, aged 45 years, 11 months and 19 days.

Deceased leaves to mourn his death three sisters and two brothers, besides many lifelong friends. Funeral services were held at the M.P. Church in Gosport, Monday Oct 29, and burial was made in the cemetery near by.

Mrs. Sarah Jenkins:

Mrs. Sarah Jenkins ... died Friday evening ... at her home on North Merchant. Mrs. Jenkins has been a resident of his city for seventeen years and has spent the majority of the years of her life in this and the surrounding counties.

Her husband preceded her in death 12 years ago last March. Mr. and Mrs. Wood Orr have been making their home with Mrs. Jenkins.

She is survived by 5 sons, namely Emery of Lerna, Ill., Frank and Charles of this city, Louis of Terre Haute, and Ben of Catlin, Ind., three daughters Mrs. Wood Orr (Mary), Mrs. Frank Arbuckle (Edith) and Mrs. Charles Warner (Ollie) all of this city. One sister Mrs. Jack Bingham, of Iowa, 2 brothers Albert and Wesley of Iowa and Missouri, respectively, and a host of other distant relatives and friends. Four of her children preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, at the home on N. Merchant. There will be no services at the church.

Rev. Clark of the Nazarene Church of this city will officiate. Burial will take place in the Oak Ridge cemetery.

Mrs. Ora Bingham

Mrs. Ora Bingham, daughter of D.H. and Elizabeth Rawlins, was born Feb. 23, 1868, in Hardin county, Ohio, and departed this life June 16, 1933 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Gee, Pleasantville, where she has made her home most of the time the last three years, at the age of 65 years, 3 months and 23 days.

In 1886 she was united in marriage to Frederic H. Kimbro, who departed this life March 28, 1901. To this union one daughter was born, Mrs. Harrison Bingham, of Dallas.

In February, 1903, she was again united in marriage to Jacob W. Bingham, who preceded her in death on Nov. 30,1932. To this union three children were born, all of whom are living. They are: Wilbur Bingham, Gosport; Mrs. Lloyd Gee, Pleasantville; Everett Bingham, Tracy. Besides her four children she leaves to mourn their loss two brothers; Wesley Rawlins of Miamond, MO., and Albert Rawlins of Colfax. Eleven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, four step-daughters and two-step sons, and a host of friends. Two sisters and three brothers have preceded her in death.

At an early age she became a member of the Protestant church in Illinois, and later moved her membership to the Gosport M.P. church of which she remained a faithful member. Although many years of poor health kept her from being present, she remained in good faith until the end. Funeral services were held at the M. P. church at Gosport, conducted by Rev. E. P. Spurlock of Ladora, Iowa. Interment in Gosport cemetery.

Rawlins Funeral Wednesday.

Funeral services for James Wesley Rawlins, 84 years old, a retired farmer, who died at 1:50 o'clock Sunday morning at the home of his son, W.H. Rawlins, east of Joplin, will be held in the Hurlbut chapel at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. The Rev. B. A. Pugh will officiate. Burial will be in Ozark Memorial Park cemetery.

Albert Rawlins, son of Dillard and Elizabeth Rawlins, was born July 5, 1861, in Shelby county, Illinois, and passed away on Nov.20,1945, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Temple, in Chariton, at the age of 84 years, four months and 15 days.

When a small lad the family moved to Gramby, Mo., and lived there until he came to manhood, In the year of 1889 he was united in marriage to Mary Rimmer, who survives him.

To this union were born eleven children, one son, Harvey, and one daughter, Daisy, precede him in death, Those left to mourn their loss besides the loving wife, are Archie of Newton; Virgil and Charlie, of Colfax. Clyde, of Galesburg, Frank, of Pine River, Minn; Albert of Russell; Mrs., Myrtle Temple, of Chariton. Mrs, Ruth Temple, of Gosport, and Mrs. Auise Carter, of Newton.

Mr. And Mrs. Rawlins lived in Missouri until 1914, then moved to Colfax, Iowa, which since has been their home. When a young man Mr. Rawlins accepted Christ as his personel Saviour and wa s baptized and united with the Christian church at Granby, Mo. To ever present christian faith which he possessed and his stability and strength of character will always be an inspiration to those who knew him.

Surviving him besides the wife and above named children are 36 grandchildren and 16 treat grand-children and many friends who will remember him because of his sterling qualities always ready to help those in need and keenly in interested in the welfare of his own loved ones. The funeral services were conducted at the Miley funeral home Saturday, December 22, at Chariton by the Rev. A. E. Beals. Interment was in the Gosport cemetery.
