Chester was born in 1893 in Cowley County, KS and sometimes later married Thelma Adeline Ford from Mena, Arkansas. Thelma’s dad was George Ford of Mena. They move during the heart of the depression to Pampa, Texas where Chester worked for the railroad as a linemen, and Thelma’s younger brother Coyle Ford lived with them washing cars for a living until he started Fords Paint and Body Shop. Chester later worked for Mobil??? Oil Company for many years up to his death in 1954, and was buried at Riverview Cemetery, Arkansas City, Cowley County, KS. Thelma moved to Ponca City till 1988 and was buried in Wichita Falls, Texas.
They had one son, Kenneth Ray Harris, born in 1929 in Pampa, TX who went on to play football for the University of Arkansas and Arkansas State, and served in the US Air force during Korea. Ken married Georgia May Smith from Dayton, Ohio, who died in 1999. Both buried at Crestview Memorial Park in Wichita Falls, TX, with Ken passing away at age 77 in 2007. They had 3 children, Kenneth Ray Harris II in Jacksonville, FL, Randall Keith Harris of Ft Worth, Texas and Stephen Lee Harris of Dallas. Ken Harris II married Sandra Sue Daugherty Harris of Wichita Falls, Texas in 1983.
