Need an obit, newspaper article, or  help with research on a surname in Decatur County?   The place to go is the Decatur County Last Indian Raid Museum, 258 S. Penn, Oberlin, Kansas  67749.  Their phone number is 1-785-475-2712.

Resource materials available there include: a microfilm reader/printer, census and newspaper microfilm, a photocopy machine, Centennial history books, plats, and much more for your research needs.  The Decatur County Genealogical Society's Library Collection is located in the basement of the museum for your convenience. 

The museum provides genealogy assistance at a very reasonable rate and they are very helpful.  The price for research is $7/hr with a 25 cent per page copy fee.

Need a land record, marriage record, probate record, or tax roll information?  Then the Decatur County Courthouse is the place to research.  Most records of genealogical interest are located at the County Clerk's Office, 1-785-475-8102 or the Clerk of the District Court 1-785-475-8107. Both are located at 120 E. Hall, Oberlin, KS, 67749.
