Earl A. Townsend services held Saturday, June 1

Earl A. Townsend, son of Charley E. Townsend and Lona Johnson [Milbourn]
was born May 3, 1894 in Decatur County, Kansas, and passed away at St.
Francis, Kansas on May 28, 1963 at the age of 69 years and 25 days.

On August 20, 1916 he was united in marriage with Nelle E. Halsey.  To
this union, four children were born.

He lived his entire life in Decatur County, Kansas.  He was a member of
Odd Fellow Lodge of Lebanon, Nebraska.  He was preceded in death by his
wife Nelle, two sisters, Winifred and Henrietta, and one brother Mirl.

Survivors are four children:  Mrs. Aneta Hageman of Ft. Collins, Colo.,
Mrs. Walter Rick of Vassar, Mich., Charley of Ft. Collins, Colo., Tom of
Lebanon, Nebr.;  seven grandchildren; four sisters, Viva Harmon of Wray,
Colo., Effie Hale of Protection, Kansas, Mildred Egleston of Oakland,
Calif, and two brothers, Dale of Norton, Kan., and Denzil of Oberlin,
Kansas.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 1, 1963 in the Lebanon
Presbyterian Church with Rev. Robert J. Loomis, Norcatur, Kansas as
officiating clergyman.  Pianist Wanda played while Lela Huff and Ruth
Anthony sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beyond the Sunset."

The casket bearers were brother Odd Fellows of the Lebanon lodge James
Powell, Frank Jolly, Art Powell, George Hosea, Ralph Helt and Wendell
Frickey.  Interment was in the Lebanon cemetery with the I.O.O.F. members
conferring the last rites.
