EVA ALLEN WENNIHAN

Eva Allen -Salsbury- Wennihan was born to George
and Emma (Capps) Salsbury near Kirksville, MO., in Adair county Nov. 8. 1882.
Eva was the oldest of a family of five. After a short illness she died at the
Decatur County hospital Jan. 20, at the age of 77 years, 2 months and 12 days.
With her parents, Eva came to Decatur county at
the age of two then returned to Joplin, MO., a short time later. There she
spent her childhood, early school days and was baptized in the Baptist church.
At the age of 18 she returned to Decatur county
and three years later was united in marriage to Charles F. Wennihan on Nov. 8,
1903. To this union four children were born. With the exception of a few years
most of their life was spent in Decatur county.
Eva will always be remembered by all for her
devoted time to raising her family and helping others in time of illness and
sorrow.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two
brothers, Bert and Frank and her husband.
She is survived by her two daughters, Mrs. Amy
Rohan, Mrs. Lois Vernon, two sons, Lowell and Maynard, 7 grandchildren, 3
great grandchildren and two sons-in-law, all of this community, one sister,
Mrs. Gertrude Wennihan of Bakersfield, Calif., one brother, Clyde Salsbury of
Fairview, Mont. and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Saturday at the Norcatur
Methodist church, the Rev. Raymond Worden officiating. Burial was in the
Norcatur cemetery.
