Frank Wilson
Oberlin Herald, September 25, 1930
Frank Wilson, son of Robert D. and Nancy Wilson, was born in Thayer Co.
Nebraska November 11, 1881 and died at his home near Selden, Kansas,
September 21, 1930, aged 48 years, 10 months, and 10 days. He was united
in marriage to Miss Anna English March 1, 1924.
About two years ago, on account of poor health, he was forced to take
hospital treatment and seemed very much improved for awhile. When
consulting his physician about two weeks ago he was told that an
operation was necessary. The seriousness of the operation, and other
things, weighed heavily on his mind and, as he brooded over this, he
became very despondent.
Frank was a kind father and husband, and will be greatly missed by all.
He was one of those big hearted fellows who was always ready to help in
time of need or do a deed of kindness.
He leaves to mourn his death, his wife, Mrs. Anna Wilson; two little
daughters, Betty age 6 and Thelma age 4; two sisters, Lavina Jackson of
Kennedy, Nebraska and Mrs. Ada Johnston, Flagler, Colorado [Aroya, CO];
four brothers, Jake, Charles, John, and Lee, all living in the vicinity;
aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
Funeral services were conducted at the Shibboleth Church by Rev. F.J.
Foster of Dresden, Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock. His body was laid
to rest in the Shibboleth Cemetery by the side of his father and mother,
who preceded him a few years ago.
[The Civil War pension records of Robert D. Wilson give Frank's year of
birth as 1882, as does the 1900 Decatur Co. census.]
